INFORMATION

GENERAL

The MELLEN MD Series Microtherm furnace operates at temperatures up to 1800ºC in air. It is designed for horizontal orientation and has an air-cooled double-wall shell to provide a cooler exterior. The furnace has a double-pivoting insulated door to keep the hot face safely away from the operator and a door interlock switch to interrupt power to the furnace when open.

Two gas ports are located in the rear wall of the furnace for gas-in and gas-out capability, along with a vent port located in the top back wall.

HEATING ELEMENTS 

The furnace utilizes Molybdenum Disilicide heating elements capable of 1800ºC in air. The heating elements are positioned on two sides of the internal chamber and are easily field replaceable. The specific design of elements is chosen to provide fast, uniform heating and long element life.

CONTROLLER 

The furnace system comes complete with an integrated dual-display Eurotherm PID controller with Ramp/Soak Programming capability with 8 Segments. Additional controllers or functionalities are available on request.

There is a built-in integrated over temperature alarm in the system and RS485 Communications standard. Separate (independent) over-temperature alarms are available upon request.

This system is also available with a side mounted power supply in some sizes instead of the traditional bottom mounted power supply.
