INFORMATION
GENERAL
The MELLEN CD series furnace operates at temperatures up to 1800ºC in air. The resilient primary insulation is backed by high quality, low thermal mass ceramic fiber insulation for thermal efficiency. The furnace outer skin consists of a stainless steel shell that ensures maintenance-free durability. The top and bottom thick steel end plates are reinforced to prevent thermal distortion. The furnace is economical to operate and comes standard with rugged firebrick vestibules.
Variable casters or leveling feet are available upon request.
HEATING ELEMENTS
The furnace utilizes Molybdenum Disilicide heating elements capable of 1800ºC in air. The elements have specifically engineered surface-watt loading for longer life at elevated temperatures. The maximum temperature is dependent on the grade of the heating elements: Grade I at 1600ºC; Grade II at 1700ºC; Grade III at 1800ºC. The heating elements are field-replaceable for ease of maintenance and are precisely placed to radiate heat uniformly to the internal chamber.

Sold Separately. Current limited phase-angle fired power supply (MELLEN PS305 or PS400 series) recommended.
