Series 13VREH

Available only in our Vulcan line, this element has the largest cross-section wire of our heating elements.  Designed with a special heating element wire, this element is capable of prolonged operation at 1300 C.  The wire in this heating element has a special shape and is the equivalent of 6 mm diameter wire!  This insures that the element will have a long life at any temperature.  Tested in our lab to 1425 C, this element is ready to handle whatever process you are looking to preform.  (please note: 1425 C was a testing temperature, the element is not designed to be used at that temperature, 1325 C is the maximum use temperature of the element).  Due to the large diameter wire, it is very rare to be able to manufacture these elements in standard voltages (120 V, 208 V, etc.), which usually requires the use of a transformer in the power supply in order to lower the voltage to one that is acceptable to the element.  While this does add initial cost to the system, in the long run, the increased uptime and not having to replace elements on a regular basis, more than outweighs the initial cost.

 

Advantages

1.  Very Large wire size means a long life even at 1325 C
2.  Due to wire size and element design, this element can be overpowered to offset special losses or provide additional power to the work charge
Disadvantages -
1.  This element rarely operates on line voltage
2.  Due to increased material costs and extra labor requirements, this element is more expensive than the other choices
