Elevator Furnace CD16-12x12x12-1600^oC Bottom Lading Furnace includes

Furnace with built in Power Supply, Furnace Stand, Bottom Loading Elevator with Mobile Insulated Hearth and Control System plus Over-temperature Alarm

MELLEN recommends that the maximum operating temperature of the furnace by 50^oC to 100^oC below the maximum rating to prolong element life.

The single zone, high temperature, bottom loading furnace is capable of operating at temperatures up to 1600^oC in air.  The furnace utilizes 1800^oC molydisilicide heating elements positioned on three sides of the internal chamber.  The furnace utilizes an energy efficient insulation package consisting of graded ceramic-fiber, high temperature insulation.

The furnace is specifically designed with a ceramic fiber roof and rugged firebrick walls and hearth.  A thermocouple port is provided in the rear wall for temperature measurements.

ELEVATOR: One bottom loading elevator assembly that includes electric driven motor control for raising and lowering the insulated hearth.  The elevator features a speed control, allowing the user to adjust the speed accordingly.  The work is moved into the furnace with the motion mechanism and then the door is sealed shut.  There are motion lights to indicate elevator movement for use when extremely slow speeds are desired.  The speed measurement is electronically controlled, allowing for smooth motion and accurate, repeatable travel time.  The mobile elevator is capable over lifting over 500 lbs of work.

Safety switches provide for automatic stop when furnace elevator is opening and closing.

The elevator speed can be changed before, during and after the run, allowing for optimal ease of use.

CONTROLLER:  The furnace system is complete with MELLEN model PS400-208-90CLT-P-R, single zone, temperature control and phase angle fired SCR power supply.  The power supply consists of the following major components:

• One Honeywell UDC3300 Series digital temperature controller calibrated for a Type R thermocouple featuring 12 segment setpoint programming

• One phase angle fired, current limiting silicon controlled rectifier, 208 volts, with over-current protection

• One circuit breaker, 2 pole, 208 volt, with appropriate amperage rating

• One MELLEN bench cabinet

• One Type R Platinum thermocouple including 10 feet of thermocouple extension wire, terminal boards, etc

• All necessary wiring (10 foot power leads), terminal boards, interconnections, etc. to make a completely operational system

OVER-TEMPERATURE ALARM: One over-temperature alarm (O.T.) utilizing an independent digitally indicating, digital set-point "hi-limit alarm" controller.  The O.T. Alarm package is furnished with appropriate thermocouple, ten feet of compensated thermocouple extension wire and sufficient mechanical power connector to interrupt power to the furnace in the event of an over-temperature condition at the location of the sensor.  The O.T. alarm is mounted in the main temperature controller enclosure.

FLOOR STAND:  The furnace is mounted to a floor stand for vertical operation.
